As a part of the Commercial & Military Aviation Business Unit, our office develops and implements optimization solutions for crew planning within the commercial airline business. This position plays a vital role in working directly with our clients to customize and deploy our software to maximize the business benefits.
Essential Functions
- Investigates and analyzes systems & procedures to improve performance and/or solve client problems of a complex nature
- Participate in the process of understanding and translating the client's business requirements into technical solutions
- Serve as technical subject matter expert for internal staff and external clients
- Conduct/participate in design and code reviews as well as testing activities Collaborate in teams and projects to ensure successful client implementation
- Provide assistance to users and management in the use of existing systems capabilities with focus on maximum performance
- As required, complete documentation and testing duties within company standards and practices
Education/Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 5 to 8 years of related work experience is required. Solid experience developing in Linux or Unix platforms is essential. Experience utilizing Python is a bonus. A combination of education and related work experience may be substituted for the requirements above.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated professionalism in developing solid working relationships with peers and customers
- Experienced in mathematical software (algorithms) as well as software development principles
- Contextual understanding of software applications
- Solid time management skills with high priority on customer service and meeting competing deadlines
- Fluency is Spanish is preferred
- Utilize ingenuity and creativity in developing solutions to complex problems
- Ability to successfully work under minimal supervision and exercise latitude in decision making
