Northwest Airlines , the world's fifth largest airline, has signed a long-term agreement with Jeppesen for the use of Jeppesen’s preferential bidding system (PBS) for 8,500 flight attendants. This agreement is Northwest Airlines’ third major deal with Jeppesen since 2003, when Carmen Crew Pairing was implemented for over 15,000 crew members. In July 2005, NWA signed an agreement for the use of Jeppesen’s PBS for 5,300 pilots.
Per Norén, managing director of Jeppesen Systems AB, said “The fact that NWA signs three major agreements with us in just three years is the result of the immediate business benefits delivered by our industry-leading crew management solutions. With Jeppesen’s preferential bidding, Northwest benefits from our state-of-the-art optimization and takes another step towards a fully integrated Jeppesen Crew Management solution.”
Other a irlines using Jeppesen’s crew management solutions include Air France, Alitalia, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Iberia, JetBlue, KLM, Lufthansa, Mexicana, SAS, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airways.
